Here’s how I made my “Spicy Cajun Chicken Pizza”
To make the pizza dough I used:
- 1 (.25 ounce) package active dry yeast
- 2 cups warm water
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
Directions for the pizza dough:
- Dissolve the yeast in the warm water.
- Then add oil, salt, and two cups of flour and blend on medium for three minutes.
- Add the remaining two cups of flour to the mixture and form the dough (the consistency is so much better this way).
- knead for about five minutes on a floured surface. Cover and let it rise. I let it rise for two hours. You can, of course, just get pizza dough to make it easier or if you are short on time. I use store-bought pizza dough a lot. Why not get help from the store when you can?
For the chicken, I cut them into tiny bite size pieces. I added in: salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, cajun seasoning, and oil. I marinated it well and cooked it over low heat so the flavors really absorbed.
I’ve always wanted to make my own marinara sauce, but didn’t have everything to make marinara sauce so I just used the store-bought version. Just use your favorite.
Now, for putting the pizza together:
I baked the crust off about half way, then added the marinara sauce, mozzarella cheese and the cooked cajun chicken and baked it off and voila — you have spicy cajun chicken pizza 🙂
